1. Alsterarkaden


The Alsterarkaden are the most beautiful passages with round arcs in Italian style. Several of the buildings are still historical with antique lights, iron balustrades and golden maritime symbols. Recommendable is the Mellin Passage, which is today the oldest passage with frescos on the ceilings and historic glass paintings.

2. Europapassagen


The shopping mall, Europapassagen presents the biggest shopping mall of Hamburg City with five floors, a length of 160 m and a surface of 30,000 m2. The Mall connects the Jungfernstieg with the important shopping street

At the Mönckebergstraße, you will find great and well-known chains, small and individual boutiques and all kind of services. The ground floor offers bistros, cafes and a giant ice cream parlour.


3. Gänsemarkt


In ancient times, people assembled the geese to bring them all together to the meadows, this is where the name, Goose Market comes from. At the square “Gänsemarkt” combines three important shopping malls into one experience. Gerhofstrasse offers mainly young fashion. The Gänsemarkt Mall comes up with famous fashion brands and restaurants. On the market itself, restaurants and cafes invite to relax after shopping. 4. Hanseviertel


Special for the ambience at the Hanseviertel is the maritime character. Numerous boutiques and one-line stores offer well-established brands. In the evening, the mall is known to organise music events and numerous restaurants and cafes provide a break and spoil the tired shopper with delicacies.

5. Jungfernstieg


The Jungfernstieg is one of the most luxury shopping malls in Hamburg. You are able to discover shoe boutiques and leather, travel accessories and jewellery. The Alsterhaus and the traditional cinema, Streit, belong to Hamburg history. The new Alsterhaus melt tradition and modern times and presents international brands in a marvellous interior design.

At the Hamburger Hof noble boutiques outclass each other offering all kind of luxury. Do not forget to have a look at the little flower shop, Blume, known for their splendid flower arrangements. So close to the Alsterpavillon it is worthwhile to take a stop over there and enjoy a drink with view over the water.


6. Neuer Wall


Luxury and lifestyle; the Neue Wall is the place for exclusive accessories, designer furniture and luxury fashion. On this 1 kilometre stretch, one can find the most prestigious (and most expensive) stores in Hamburg. The Neue Wall was completely refurbished a few years ago. One can splendidly stroll along on the broad sidewalks. The ambiance of Neuen Wall fits flawlessly to the sophisticated stores.

7. Spitaler Straße


Always something going on; the Spitalerstraße is only ever empty when all stores have closed. During the opening hours pedestrians stroll through the tightly packed streets. The shopping paradise of Spitalerstraße is characterized through its high-profile and its extensive mix of different stores. On the Spitalerstraße one can not only shop, all other errands can be done there also: the service offered ranges from pharmacies and banks, to opticians and telephone providers. If you stroll through the Spitalerstraße, you will immediately notice Hanseatic structures from its founding period, which also act magnificently as historical scenery for the yearly Christmas market.

8. Rathausmarkt


Looking for a unique souvenir? The Rathausmarkt might be the perfect location to look for it. It is also home to various events throughout the year, such as the Stuttgarter Weindorf which is a culinary highlight taking place in summer. In winter, the Hamburg Christmas markets take place there.

9. Hamburger Meile


The Hamburger Meile is Europe's longest shopping mall with 600 metres in length. The inauguration of the building took place in April 2010, and shopaholics can find anything they need!

10. Second Hand & Vintage


Hamburg is probably Europe's best place for vintage fans. The city has some excellent second hand shops throughout the city centre, such as the Classen Secondhand, Jimmy, Männersache (for men), Miss Seconda and Secondella (for women). There is even a second hand shopping mall called N+H Kleidermarkt.
