HADAG-Ferries are your individual option: The tour connects famous HafenCity (harbor city) with Finkenwerder, Landungsbruecken and container terminals. A hot tip is line 62 which takes you along the Hamburg Elbufer (Elbe riverbank): Start on pier Elbphilharmonie, via Landungsbruecken, Dockland, Hamburg’s fishmarket right up to Oevelgoenne, further to Lotsenstation and Finkenwerder.

Hamburg Fishmarket


The famous Fishmarket is a must for every Hamburg visitor. Since 1703 merchants praise their good aloud from colourful market stalls, mainly fresh fish and fruit, but also many other things. Take a break after your fishmarket stroll and enjoy breakfast with live music in the historic fish auction halls.

View Point


The orange 13 m high viewpoint made of 12 tons of steel is a real eyecatcher. Up to 25 people can be up on the platform to enjoy a spectacular view of the harbor scenery. Discover the stately concert hall Philharmonie and watch out for cruise liners entering the harbour.

St. Michaelis Church Michel


From the top of this Hamburg landmark nicknamed Michel you have a fantastic view of the city, harbor and surroundings. If you fancy a challenge, take the stairs up to the top, but may also take the elevator. On level 2 of the tower you can visit a multimedia exhibition showing 1,000 years of Hamburg history on a 5m-panoramic screen.

Elbe Beach and Strandperle Café


On a nice day the shore of Oevelgoenne beneath the Elbchaussee is a great spot to spend on the beach and very popular with visitors and residents alike. The place to see and be seen is the café Strandperle right on the water’s edge. So grab your bathing things and plunge into a typical Hamburg pleasure.

Tierpark Hagenbeck (Zoo Hagenbeck)


For more than 100 years this zoo takes you to 5 continents on a 25 ha parkland. Visitors are welcomed by one of the largest herd of elephants in Europe and if you like, you can also feed an elephant or giraffe. The tropical aquarium takes you on an 8,000 sqm expedition along the equator and there is a breathtaking underwaterworld to discover. Children can ride a pony, take a ride in a carriage or on the fairytale train, enjoy the playground and get close to the animals in the petting zoo.

Planten un Blomen


This amazingly spacious 4,300 sqm landscape located right in the city centre offers a great green oasis between St. Pauli and the Alster lake. It boasts Botanical Gardens with a tropical house, a rose garden, herb garden and the largest Japanese Garden in Europe. You also find a skating rink, roller-skate and inline-skate rink, playgrounds and theatre performances for children. A highlight are the colourful water fountains every year from May until September, elaborately staged artworks of water, light and music.

Alsterpark


The Alster lakes and surrounding landscape are very popular with sailors and offer great space on the embankment dotted with Japanese cherry trees, ideal for a picnic and children can play and run around on the grass. You can cycle around the Aussenalster or hire a pedal, paddle- or rowing boats and ‘cruise’ on the lakes Innen- and Aussenalster.
